CORVETTE, WAS THE WINNER OF THE 2001 BLOOMINGTON GOLD SURVIVOR AWARD. This
award is only honored for a Corvette that passes four categories to
qualify it for being in the best interest of historic research not to be
restored. To meet these qualifications the car must be non restored and
all original in 4 categories 1) Exterior 2) interior 3) under the hood and
4) chassis. I have the judging form filled out by Bloomington Gold and the
certificate issued by Bloomington Gold for this cars documentation that it
was a survivor award winner. The Vin Pad is # 418503 The Date Suffix is
V0227 CLR and the date Codes are B203 and the Paint Code is 945
(Blue-Green) with an Interior Code of 422 (Dark Saddle Leather) the car is
all original paint of course and for a 30-year plus old car it is mint. .
No major scratches or other body issues. There is some surface rust on the
passenger inside door panel. And some minor cracks in the door panel on
the corners. But as you can see by the pictures this Corvette is
definitely mint for being un restored and all original. There are some
issues though. The brakes need to be pumped while driving and would need
servicing, the A/C does not work from being stored for the last few years
and the exhaust has a small leak (sounds like a pipe joint but not sure)
Beside that the car runs and drives excellent! The engine is quite with no
noises and the trans, clutch, steering and gauges, lights etc work great.
If your looking for a true collectable with the best documentation for
original un restored this is the car! It is still owned by the same family
that took it to the Bloomington Gold Survivor Awards in 2001.The car had
55,630 miles on the odometer on 6/23/2001 when it competed and won. The
odometer now reads 61,867 miles. |
